ADFS Integration

Didn't find what you were looking for in the Integration Hub? You might have an on-premise setup, and we've got you covered.

But what is ADFS?

ADFS, or Active Directory Federation Services, always implies Single Sign-On (SSO) functionality.

Opting for ADFS means implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) capabilities tailored to your local environment. It's important to note that ADFS is hosted locally by you, setting it apart from cloud-based solutions like Azure AD. So whereas, for example, Azure AD is in the cloud, ADFS is on-premise (locally hosted).

Unlike Azure AD, ADFS does not offer a direct API for integration. Instead, integration with ADFS involves exchanging metadata, allowing for seamless communication between systems.

So, how does it work with us?

Since ADFS is not cloud-based with no API, our integration process revolves around exchanging metadata to establish connectivity and enable SSO functionality.

With Learningbank, we've established a standard integration employing 'just-in-time'. This entails users being generated upon their initial login, with updates occurring only upon subsequent logins.

To set up ADFS, simply provide us with your App Federation Metadata URL, and we'll set it up for you.

💡 TIP: You're able to prepare your platform with job profiles and departments, if you would like to automatically enable sharings for your users.
