Track: View completed learning after unassignment

When learning is unassigned from a user, completed learning history can still be available in Track.

This helps you keep reporting on what users have completed, even when Journeys, Modules, or Learning paths are later changed or cleaned up.

Incomplete learning that is no longer assigned is removed from active progress, so Track stays focused on relevant learning activity.

Who this is relevant for

This is relevant for admins and managers who use Track to review learning progress and completion history.

It is especially useful when you need to follow up on learning history after content assignments change.

When to use it

Use this when completed learning has been unassigned but you still need to see it in Track.

For example:

  • A Module or Learning path has been removed from a Journey after users completed it.

  • A user has been removed from a Journey or Circle that included completed learning.

  • You want to report on previous completions without keeping old assignments active.

How to view completed history

  1. Go to Track and choose either User or Content.

  2. Use your filters to find the user, Module, Learning path, or Journey you want to review.

  3. Enable Include history in your filters to see completed learning that is no longer actively assigned.

Completed Modules and Learning paths will then appear as part of the user history, even if the user is no longer assigned the content.

What changes when learning is unassigned

  • Completed learning is kept in history. Completed Modules and Learning paths can still be included when you review historical learning activity.

  • Incomplete progress is removed. If the user had not completed the learning before it was unassigned, it is removed from Track.

  • Reassignment does not remove past completions. If the same learning is assigned again later, the previously completed history remains intact.

Good to know

  • Unassigned completed learning is shown as history in Track, so remember to enable Include history when you need to find it.

  • If a Module or user is deleted from the platform, the completion will no longer be shown.

  • If a Learning path is deleted, completed Modules from that Learning path can still be kept in the user's Module history.
