How do deadlines work on a learning path, and how are these deadlines different from the deadlines you set on modules?

How do I add deadlines to a learning path?

First, you need to have added a learning path to a sharing and connected to either a starting point or another learning path. Once this is done, you can access the learning path deadline by simply clicking on the learning path within the sharing, and then on "deadline" in the menu on the left-hand side.

Quick tip💡
The deadline on a learning path will override the deadlines set on modules within that learning path.

Deadlines and delays

Now that you can set deadlines on learning paths, it's important to be aware of any delays in the learning path as well. The total length of the delays must be shorter than the deadline length. If this is not the case, then your users will not be able to finish the module before the deadline and will be marked as overdue in the platform.

For example! Say you have a learning path with three modules, and you set a 1 day delay between them for a total of 2 days delay. In this case, your deadline can not be shorter than 3 days. Otherwise, the delays between the modules will prevent users from finishing the learning path on time.

Why are there two different sets of deadlines?

In the platform, there are deadlines on learning paths, and deadlines on modules.

Deadlines were added to learning paths as a way of simplifying deadlines in the platform as a whole, while maintaining flexibility in setting up your learning paths.

With learning paths without any delays, simply adding a deadline to the whole learning path is an easy and straightforward way to set a finishing date for your users.

For learning paths with delays, you can still set deadlines on individual modules to fit the delay sequence you wish your users to follow.
