In this article, you will find the kinds of communication that impact the login and activation of users. If you need to learn about communication in general or how to make custom templates, please go to this article: "Communication and notifications".

Quick tip💡

When scrolling through the settings, you might notice that some of the features are already turned on, and you cannot disable them.
This is intentional to ensure that important information is sent to the users.

Activation of users

Toggle this on if you want your users to get a notification when their account is ready to use in the system. This applies when adding users manually, through bulk upload via an Excel sheet, or through an integration.

Through this, they can activate their account and start learning!

As an admin, you can also re-send activation e-mails to selected users. Go to 'User management' and click the three dots next to the user's name. Only users who have never logged in before can receive the activation e-mail.

Good to know:

  • The notification will be sent straight away.

  • The notification contains an activation link, which will be active for 14 days.

  • If you are using SSO, users do not need to activate their account and can simply log in via the platform URL.

Reset password

By enabling this function, your users will get a notification containing a link to reset their password if they have clicked Reset password on the login screen, or if you have done that for them. This can be done by going to 'User management', click the three dots next to the user's name, and click 'Reset password', and then on 'Send reset password link'.

In the pop-up box, you can also manually create a new password for them. This does not trigger any notifications, so you need to send them the password you made manually. Make it a one time password by toggleing on this setting:

Good to know:

  • The e-mail will be sent straight away.

No login reminder

This one secures engagement among users. You can choose how many days you want between the notification by clicking the little box at the end of the description. When a certain number of days have passed, they will be reminded to keep using the platform.

Good to know:

  • Once per day at 7:55 UTC, the system evaluates whether any users meet the requirements. The e-mail will be sent to users who match the requirements.

  • This setting also works retroactively. Meaning that if the e-mail setting has been disabled but then later enabled, users who were created, e.g. 31 days ago and have since not logged in, will receive an e-mail.

  • Users that have yet to activate their accounts will also be reminded.
