The first step of sharing content to you users is to create the content that they need to complete. All the content will be created as modules inside the Content Creator.

This is how it is done!

  1. Navigate to the Learning tab

  2. Click modules

  3. Click +Create and choose the module type you need -> pick between Lesson, Quiz or Survey and OJT elements (if enabled on your platform).

  4. Give your content a title and start adding elements to your content!

Knowledge sharing🧠
When picking the module type, it might be good to know that the options for Lesson elements are images and text. In Quizzes and Surveys, you have interactive choices so users can respond to questions during the module.

The difference between a Quiz and Survey is that Surveys are not tracked withe the users name on it. Read more on Surveys here.

OJT training is a category by itself; you can dive deeper into what it is here.

Adding content

Now that you have created your new module, you should give it a title so you can easily find it again in the module overview.

Once that is done, you will be ready to add content manually by clicking +Add content. If you wish to upload some content in PDF format, you can do that by clicking Create with Geni instead.

From here, you pick out your elements, including text, images, videos, links and other things you need users to view in the particular module.

To fill out the images, simply click the image box and either browse something directly from your device or use a library to add to the field. I can be both images and GIF's.

We recommend that you make sure to preview your content once in a while to see how it looks for users using different devices.

Customise elements

Once you have added all the elements, you are ready to make them look appealing so users will want to engage with your content. You can do this by adding a theme to the entire module or one element at a time.

One by one:

Click on the element you need to customise, and a pop-up will appear on the left-hand side. Here, you can add either a background colour with a hex code or a background image. You can also change the transparency of the images.

Theme:

Themes work for all elements inside the module where you still have the default settings. The theme is added to your settings, and you can read a more extensive guide on how to use it in this article: "Content Creator Settings: Theme".

Quick tip💡 The theme will not override the updates you all ready made on the elements if you updated any one element at the time.

Now that you understand the module basis, we can move on to module settings.

Recommendation for Multi-Media elements🧠

Videos:

All videos are converted by us to Codec: H.264 (x264) Bitrate: ~2200kbs
This is to achieve compatibility for all mobile web browsers.

We do not change the aspect ratio but recommend max res: 1280x720.

SCORM:
We recommend not using SCORM that are bigger than 2GB. For the best user experience, it is always a good idea to use smaller SCORM files, thus breaking them into smaller parts if it takes more than 5-10 minutes to complete.
