Need to find something fast? With Global Search, you can quickly locate both content and colleagues — all from one place.

Global Search is available directly on the user side of the platform and helps you access the information you need, when you need it.

Watch how it will look on mobile here🎬

Where to find Global Search

You’ll find the search function in the top left corner of your screen if you use your phone, and in the right corner of your user dashboard on computer.

From here, you can search across:

  • Content assigned to you

  • Other users (depending on your permissions)

Search for content

Looking for a specific course, certificate, or information?

Simply type a keyword into the search bar to instantly see relevant results.

Search results include:

  • Assigned content

  • Explorable content available to you

Quick tip💡 You can only search for content that is already assigned to you or available for exploration.

Search for people

Global Search also allows you to find and view information about colleagues.

For example, if you need to:

  • Check someone’s certifications

  • See their skills

  • Find contact details

Just search for their name and open their profile. Users are only allowed to use this function, if enabled in their permission type. You can either chose that they can see all users in the organization, or only those in their department for sub departments.

Depending on your permissions, you can access the following information:

  • Name

  • Job profile

  • Department

  • Skills

  • Certificates

  • Contact information (email and phone)

Example use cases

Global Search is especially useful when you need quick answers, such as:

  • Verifying a colleague’s certification during an audit

  • Finding someone with the right skills for a task

  • Checking who is qualified for a specific responsibility

Picture this💭

You are working in construction, and an audit is currently taking place. All people on the filed needs to show that they are allowed to perform their work. But what about your colleague operating the crane? Instead of waiting them to get down from the crane, you can show their crane certificate on behalf of them.

You would simply need to:

  • Search for the colleague

  • Open their profile

  • Review their skills or certificates

  • Show the person doing the audit.

Now you are ready to get back to work👷
